One-to-One Consulting

One-to-One Consulting for Landscape & Lawn Care Owners

Fred Haskett works directly with you and your team every month. He has run the kind of company you run, so the advice comes from the seat you sit in, not from a textbook.

Why owners sign up

The boss needs someone to talk to

You can’t share every doubt with your managers, and your family has already heard enough about the business. So the hardest decisions tend to get made alone and under pressure.

As a One-to-One member, you have Fred Haskett in your corner: a management consultant with hands-on experience in this business, and someone you can confide in completely. Every conversation stays confidential.

Use him as a sounding board for ideas and plans. When a hard decision comes, and it will, you’ll have someone who already knows you, your company, and your situation.

What’s included

Everything in a One-to-One membership

One monthly membership covers scheduled calls with Fred, open access between them, and his full library of working documents.

  • Every month

    2 video conferences

Formally scheduled calls with Fred, with just you or with a team from your company.

    • Review of your monthly financial statements
    • Your agenda, plus anything urgent
  • Between calls

    Unlimited email

Send questions whenever they come up during the month. Fred answers promptly, so a problem doesn’t sit and wait for the next scheduled call.

  • Between calls

    Phone calls, no meter

Call to talk something through. Minutes aren’t tracked, so you never have to weigh a question against the clock.

  • Arranged in advance

    Check-ins with your managers

Fred can keep in touch with your department managers each month, monitor their progress, and report back to you.

  • If you need it

    A sales manager and coach

The same calls can cover sales management and coaching for your team, without adding a full-time sales manager to payroll.

  • Included

    Fred’s working library

Job descriptions, forms, sample contracts, and training material collected and built over 43 years. Take what you need and adapt it.

The TrueWinds Scorecard

A monthly read on the whole business

Each month Fred reviews the key indicators that show how things are progressing, so you both see a problem while it’s still small.

The scorecard is part of every membership. It turns the monthly call from a conversation about how things feel into a review of how things are.

How it starts

Every engagement follows the same course

  1. Take the position

    A 30-minute conversation

You talk, Fred asks questions, and together you take an honest fix on where the business actually is. No pitch and no obligation.

  2. Set the course

    A plan with priorities

Not a binder. A short, sequenced plan built on your real numbers: what to fix first, what it should return, and who owns each piece.

  3. Hold the heading

    Monthly accountability

The scorecard gets reviewed every month. Course corrections happen while they’re cheap, not at year-end when they’re expensive.

Questions about one-to-one consulting

Can my leadership team join the calls?

Yes. Each of your 2 monthly video conferences can be one-to-one with you, or it can include a team from your company.

Is there a limit on phone calls or email?

No. Email questions during the month are unlimited and answered promptly, and phone call minutes are not tracked.

Will Fred review our financial statements?

He can. A review of your monthly financial statements can be part of a scheduled video conference, alongside scorecard indicators such as gross margins, budgets, and P&L statements.

Can Fred work with my managers directly?

Yes, when it’s arranged in advance. He can keep in touch with your department managers each month, monitor their progress, and report back to you.

Is everything confidential?

Completely. Every discussion with Fred is kept confidential, without exception.

Can Fred come to our operation?

Yes. On-site visits can be scheduled for specific projects such as operational efficiency audits, quality control training, or budget development. Virtual working sessions cover topics like SWOT analysis and sales training.

What does it cost?

Every engagement is scoped and quoted in plain terms before anything starts. The first conversation costs nothing, and you’ll leave it with something useful either way.

Talk it through with Fred first.

30 minutes about where your business is and where you want it to go. No pitch and no pressure, because this only works when the fit is right.
